Weekend Project

After attending Bill’s cousin’s wedding in New Jersey on Saturday we decided that we needed to get up and get some things done today. By the way, the wedding was beautiful and there was more food at the reception than I’ve ever seen at one before. It was a nice day all around. We’ll put some photos up in our photo album soon.

Today Bill tackled the small wall around the front flower bed. We got approval from the housing committee about a year ago to put it in. We figure that approval is still good. He also put in the solar lights. They look pretty cool tonight. He’s going to put another wall around the tree in the front yard. A project for another weekend. And yes, we do realize that there is a shutter missing, we’re working on having that corrected.

Friday evening we got the call that the crib mattress we ordered was in and two weeks early! Today I ran out to get that so that I could put the finishing touches on the crib. Basically put everything in it. That was my smaller project. I also got lots of other stuff done around the house today. Don’t think that doing the crib wiped me out for the day.

Our pack ‘n play is also now set up and ready. I’m considering starting to pack a hospital bag. Some people feel that I should already have it done. I’m thinking that the calendar needs to be flipped to May for me to get it ready. I know that’s only two days away, but maybe in another week or so I’ll start it.

So here’s a few photos to go under the heading of “Lookie what I did!”

It has happened. My once lovely ankles have disappeared and been replaced by something similar to this photo. My normally wide feet also seem to have given new meaning to the word ‘wide’.

Yes, the swollen ankles of the third trimester are here. Today I am officially 33 weeks and officially swollen. From what my girlfriends have told me I need to expect to be like this for the remaining seven (dear Lord don’t let it be more!) weeks.

The other fun thing over the past few weeks has been the middle of the night leg alarm aka leg cramp. I have had two, both in my right calf and they are just as bad as my girlfriends have warned me about. The first one resulted in a calf muscle that was sore for a week. The second one however didn’t cause any residual pain. I believe this is due to the fact that Bill was also awakened by the alarm and massaged my leg at 4am. What a world of difference, just like with the EMS and TENS Devices here, that helps any pain that is bothering you! Thanks so much for that babe.

Where I work flip flops are not part of the dress code. (Despite what one middle-aged admin thinks.) I however am bringing them mainstream this spring. I have fashionable, but oh-so-comfy ones that are going to be a staple of my wardrobe until June. I seriously doubt anyone will mention a thing to me about it. Instead they’ll talk behind my back, but I could care less. It’s about not being able to fit into anything else at this point and I’m sure that my cool flip flops are more acceptable than showing up barefoot and pregnant. If not, they can suck my swollen big toe!
